Trillium Cafe … it’s baaaack!

Word was, someone had finally bought the Trillium Cafe, months after it went dark. It was sporting the typical butcher-paper disguise when I pushed on the door the other day, and lo and behold, it opened. Inside, I met the new owner, testing out the grill with burger fixins for himself and his dad on a break from bringing the venerable joint  back to life.

Ben VanDeHey is one of the owners of the Pizzicato franchise in the Hood River Square shopping center out on the west side, near Walmart. He’s hoping to have the Trillium open by March 1, serving familiar fare — burgers and sandwiches — seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

“We’re going to change the menu a bit,” he says. “Make it a bit more gourmet, with natural beef for patties and other local ingredients. But it will basically stay a burger place.”

    Had the clam chowder… not bad.. but where was the bacon? and the two fat guys in the kitchen with the tattoos looked as if they are awesome dudes!! and would be fun to party with…..

      Please take detailed notes and share details with us all. About the fats and tats, I mean.
